Silver Snapper/Kochi Katla- Katla endemic to Indian subcontinent. Body short and deep and compressed side to some extend, its depth is longer than the lengthof the head, head big and forms half of the length body covered with large circular scales. eyes large big mouth, upper lip absent, gray colour on the back and white colour on the abdomen, fin celestial colour. Catla of size between 2 - 3kg are considered favorites.Katla can grow up to 4 kg in one year.
